Poet, magician, photographer and direct descendant of Chief Mackinac, Jamie Andress has been carrying on the family tradition of storytelling and artistry for more than a decade, and has recently become the very first Poet Laureate of Mackinac County. His intention is to inspire people to embrace their unique potential.
Born and raised on Mackinac Island, Jamie is inspired by the beauty and power of nature, and the positive energy that comes with being surrounded by Island artists and kind honest people.
His spoken word poetry performances have been enjoyed by audiences at the Pink Pony, Music in the Park on Mackinac Island, Pleasant City Coffee in Mt Pleasant and Facebook Live.
His close-up and stage magic has amazed audiences on and off Island at venues such as Grand Hotel, Mission Point Resort, Island House Hotel, Grand Traverse Resort and Ferris State University
By embracing the beauty and everyday challenges of life, Jamie aims to use his creativity to spark the curiosity, clarity and creativity within others, so they can grow their hearts, minds, and develop their skills of self expression and flow.
